Japan’s hedge fund scene is heating up — and with it, the race to find top investment talent. Firms such as Dymon Asia Capital, Polymer Capital Management, Lighthouse Partners, and Point72 Asset Management are expanding their on the ground teams as Japan experiences a revival in trading activity, in search of and attract investment professionals in an increasingly competitive market.

Singapore hedge fund Dymon Asia Capital has had an exemplary year. Business Insider reports that, for the year to November, it posted 16% returns, more than other high performing funds like ExodusPoint and Balyasny. The success has been facilitated by expansion on multiple fronts, including the hiring of 19 portfolio managers (PM), and the buildout of multiple new offices.
